What is NCCT KUB?
The KUB NCCT Scan is also known as Non Contrast CT Scan of the Kidneys Ureter Bladder. It’s a diagnostic method where rotating beams of X-rays are creating multiple cross sectional images of the upper tract, namely kidneys, ureters, and bladder , which may form a 3 dimensional image of organs to detect and diagnose various disorders.
Why is NCCT KUB done?
To diagnose the obstructions inside the upper tract like stones inside the kidneys or bladder • To find-out the presence of tumors (abnormal growth) inside the kidneys or bladder
• To find-out the infections or inflammations within the upper tract
• To detect lesions growth or abscesses within the kidneys
• To determine and diagnose the various conditions affecting renal structure and functioning
• To provide guidance to the diagnostic procedures known as biopsy or surgical procedures like kidney transplantation
• To determine the effectiveness of a kidney transplant
