What takes place during a DHEAS test?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To draw blood, a provider must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • To force more blood into the blood vessels, tie an elastic band (tourniquet) around the upper part of your arm (bicep). This increase in blood volume makes accessing a vein easier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Antiseptically sterilizes your skin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A thin, hollow needle is inserted into a vein on the inside of the arm. The needle may cause a slight pinch as it punctures the skin, but the procedure should not be painful.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
